If you’re trying to find a less expensive vacation you might want to consider camping. There are various accommodation types available from hotel or cabin, motorhomes, tents and to very little amenities which is only for the experienced and brave. Camping vacations develop great family bonding experiences that last a lifetime in the great outdoors where you’re exposed to nature and wildlife Plus, there are numerous choices for housing from hotels to motorhomes, cabins and tents to fully exposed to the elements with very little equipment.
Hotels and motorhomes generally provide you with all the amenities of home: bathroom, kitchen and sleeping accommodations, all you have to do is step outside to enjoy nature. You can usually have access to televisions, wifi, telephones and light switches to turn the electricity on and off, plus your food could either be prepared for you or kept frozen or fresh in refrigeration but requires a cook. For someone that is wanting to take their first step into the nature experience, this could be a starting option.
The next step down in cost and amenities would be cabins which vary in what type of accommodations they provide. Some are set up like a fully stocked apartment, with kitchen, bathroom, bedrooms and lots of sleeping areas. Or, there are cabins that have sleeping only accommodations and cooking and relaxing time is spent outside of the cabin in the outdoors. The different types of cabins is strictly site specific. Be sure when investigating cabin accommodations, you find out what is provided and what you will need to take with you.
Tent camping is popular but requires planning and purchasing or renting basic amenities such as tent, sleeping bags and possibly cooking equipment and ice chests to keep food fresh. This type of camping is extremely popular because if you purchase your equipment you will get many uses out of it and you can camp with as few items as you feel necessary from having a full fledge camping site with your backyard charcoal barbeque and fully stocked kitchen equipment and supplies, cots and mattresses for bedding to using public restrooms and showers to solar showers and portable potties. Tent camping is extremely popular and the proof lies in the number of tent sites available to the “other” types of camping sites available in any particular area.
And, for the very brave and adventurous but probably not families is camping in the open with very little camping equipment but sleeping bag and non-perishable food. This type of camping is definitely not for everyone. Of course, you can always add some equipment but it would be totally up to you.
There are numerous activities to pass the time while camping from fishing, hiking or just enjoying the great outdoors and listening to the sounds and sights. And of course, food just tastes so fabulous when you’ve been outdoors all day and enjoying the campfire at night is surely an all time favorite.
So, if you’d like to have an experience in the great outdoors and with nature, there are many different types of accommodations you can choose from at a variety of costs.
